והוה ליהושפט עותר ויקר לסוגי ואתחתין עם אחאב:
akhab em wathkhthyn lswgy wyqr ewthr lyhwshpT whwh
Now Jehoshaphat had riches and honor in abundance; and he allied himself with Ahab.

ונחת לסוף שנין לות אחאב לשמרון ונכס ליה אחאב עאן ותורי לסוגי ולעמא דעמיה ושדליה למסק לרמות גלעד:
gled lrmwth lmsq wshdlyh demyh wlema lswgy wthwry ean akhab lyh wnks lshmrwn akhab lwth shnyn lswp wnkhth
After some years, he went down to Ahab to Samaria. Ahab killed sheep and cattle for him in abundance, and for the people who were with him, and moved him to go up with him to Ramoth Gilead.

ואמר אחאב מלכא דישראל ליהושפט מליך שבטא דבית יהודה התיזיל עמי לרמות גלעד ואמר ליה אנא דכותך ודכות עמך עמי מה דימטי לך ימטי לי בקרבא:
bqrba ly ymTy lk dymTy mh emy emk wdkwth dkwthk ana lyh wamr gled lrmwth emy hthyzyl yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlyk lyhwshpT dyshral mlka akhab wamr
Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, “Will you go with me to Ramoth Gilead?” He answered him, “I am as you are, and my people as your people. We will be with you in the war.”

ואמר יהושפט למלכא דישראל תבע כדון יומא הדין ית פתגמא דיי:
dyy pthgma yth hdyn ywma kdwn thbe dyshral lmlka yhwshpT wamr
Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, “Please inquire first for Yahweh’s word.”

וכנש מלכא דישראל ית נביאיא ארבע מאה גוברין ואמר להון הכשר לנא דנסק לרמות גלעד לקרבא אין אתמנע ואמרו סק וימסור יי בידא דמלכא:
dmlka byda yy wymswr sq wamrw athmne ayn lqrba gled lrmwth dnsq lna hkshr lhwn wamr gwbryn mah arbe nbyaya yth dyshral mlka wknsh
Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said to them, “Shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall I forbear?” They said, “Go up, for God will deliver it into the hand of the king.”

ואמר יהושפט האפשר דלית כא נביא דכשר קדם יי תוב ונתבע מניה:
mnyh wnthbe thwb yy qdm dkshr nbya ka dlyth hapshr yhwshpT wamr
But Jehoshaphat said, “Isn’t there here a prophet of Yahweh besides, that we may inquire of him?”

ואמר מלכא דישראל ליהושפט תוב אית גברא חד למתבע פתגמא דיי מניה ואנא רחקתיה מטול דליתוי מתנבי עלי לטבתא ארום כל יומוי לבישתא הוא מיכיהו בר ימלא ואמר יהושפט לא ימר מלכא היכנא:
hykna mlka ymr la yhwshpT wamr ymla br mykyhw hwa lbyshtha ywmwy kl arwm lTbtha ely mthnby dlythwy mTwl rkhqthyh wana mnyh dyy pthgma lmthbe khd gbra ayth thwb lyhwshpT dyshral mlka wamr
The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of Yahweh; but I hate him, for he never prophesies good concerning me, but always evil. He is Micaiah the son of Imla.” Jehoshaphat said, “Don’t let the king say so.”

וקרא מלכא דישראל לגואה חד ואמר סרהיב למיתי למיכיהו בר ימלא:
ymla br lmykyhw lmythy srhyb wamr khd lgwah dyshral mlka wqra
Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, “Get Micaiah the son of Imla quickly.”

ומלכא דישראל ויהושפט מליך שבטא דבית יהודה לבושין לביש מלכותא ויתבין מסחרין הי כפלגות אדרא דא תבע מן נביי שקרא ודין תבע אולפן מן קדם יי ומצלי במעלנא דשמרון וכלהון נביי שקרא מתנבן בשקר קדמיהון:
qdmyhwn bshqr mthnbn shqra nbyy wklhwn dshmrwn bmelna wmtsly yy qdm mn awlpn thbe wdyn shqra nbyy mn thbe da adra kplgwth hy mskhryn wythbyn mlkwtha lbysh lbwshyn yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlyk wyhwshpT dyshral wmlka
Now the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah each sat on his throne, arrayed in their robes, and they were sitting in an open place at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets were prophesying before them.

ועבד צדקיהו בר כנענא נביא שקרא דמות צורתא דקרנין דפרזל ואמר כדנן אמר יי באלין תקטול ית אנש ארם עד די תשיצנון:
thshytsnwn dy ed arm ansh yth thqTwl balyn yy amr kdnn wamr dprzl dqrnyn tswrtha dmwth shqra nbya knena br tsdqyhw webd
Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made himself horns of iron and said, “Yahweh says, ‘With these you shall push the Syrians, until they are consumed.’”

וכלהון נביי שקרא מתנבן בשקר היכנא למימר סק לרמות גלעד ואצלח וימסור יי בידא דמלכא:
dmlka byda yy wymswr watslkh gled lrmwth sq lmymr hykna bshqr mthnbn shqra nbyy wklhwn
All the prophets prophesied so, saying, “Go up to Ramoth Gilead, and prosper; for Yahweh will deliver it into the hand of the king.”

ואזגדא דאזל למקרי למיכה מלל לותיה למימר הא פתגמי נביי שקרא ממלל חד טבא ותקין קדם מלכא ויהי כדון פתגמך כחדא מנהון ותמליל פתגמין תקנין:
thqnyn pthgmyn wthmlyl mnhwn kkhda pthgmk kdwn wyhy mlka qdm wthqyn Tba khd mmll shqra nbyy pthgmy ha lmymr lwthyh mll lmykh lmqry dazl wazgda
The messenger who went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, “Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one mouth. Let your word therefore, please be like one of theirs, and speak good.”

ואמר מיכה קים הוא יי ית דיימר אלהי יתיה אמלל:
amll ythyh alhy dyymr yth yy hwa qym mykh wamr
Micaiah said, “As Yahweh lives, I will say what my God says.”

ואתא לות מלכא ואמר מלכא לותיה מיכה הכשר דנסק לרמות גלעד לאגחא קרבא אין אתמנע ואמר סקו ואצלחו ויתמסרו בידיכון:
bydykwn wythmsrw watslkhw sqw wamr athmne ayn qrba lagkha gled lrmwth dnsq hkshr mykh lwthyh mlka wamr mlka lwth watha
When he had come to the king, the king said to him, “Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall I forbear?” He said, “Go up, and prosper. They shall be delivered into your hand.”

ואמר ליה מלכא עד כמה זמנין אנא מקים עלך דלא תתנבי עלי לחוד קושטא דיי:
dyy qwshTa lkhwd ely ththnby dla elk mqym ana zmnyn kmh ed mlka lyh wamr
The king said to him, “How many times shall I adjure you that you speak to me nothing but the truth in Yahweh’s name?”

ואמר חמית ית ישראל מבדרין עלוי טוריא הי כענא דלית להון רעי ואמר יי לית רבונין לאלין יתובון אנש לביתה בשלם:
bshlm lbythh ansh ythwbwn lalyn rbwnyn lyth yy wamr rey lhwn dlyth kena hy Twrya elwy mbdryn yshral yth khmyth wamr
He said, “I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. Yahweh said, ‘These have no master. Let them each return to his house in peace.’”

ואמר מלכא דישראל ליהושפט הלא אמרית לותך דלא יתנבי עלי טב ארום אלהן לביש:
lbysh alhn arwm Tb ely ythnby dla lwthk amryth hla lyhwshpT dyshral mlka wamr
The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “Didn’t I tell you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?”

ואמר הא בכין קביל פתגמא נבואתא דיי חמית ית איקר שכנתא דיי יתיב על כורסי יקריה וכלהון חילי שמיא קימין ומשמשין מן ימיניה ומן שמאליה:
shmalyh wmn ymynyh mn wmshmshyn qymyn shmya khyly wklhwn yqryh kwrsy el ythyb dyy shkntha ayqr yth khmyth dyy nbwatha pthgma qbyl bkyn ha wamr
Micaiah said, “Therefore hear Yahweh’s word: I saw Yahweh sitting on his throne, and all the army of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.

ואמר יי מן ישרגג ית אחאב מלכא דישראל ויסק ויתרמי קטיל ברמת גלעד ואמר דין יימר ככדין ודין יימר ככדין:
kkdyn yymr wdyn kkdyn yymr dyn wamr gled brmth qTyl wythrmy wysq dyshral mlka akhab yth yshrgg mn yy wamr
Yahweh said, ‘Who will entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth Gilead?’ One spoke saying in this way, and another saying in that way.

ונפק רוחא דנבות דמן יזרעאל ממחיצת צדיקיא וקם קדם יי ואמר אנא אטעניה ואמר ליה יי במה:
bmh yy lyh wamr aTenyh ana wamr yy qdm wqm tsdyqya mmkhytsth yzreal dmn dnbwth rwkha wnpq
A spirit came out, stood before Yahweh, and said, ‘I will entice him.’ “Yahweh said to him, ‘How?’

ואמר אפוק ואהא לרוח נבואת שקר בפומהון דכלהון נביאוהי ואמר תטעי ואוף אית לך יוכלא למטעי יתהון ברם לית לך רשו למתב ביני צדיקיא מטול דכל מאן דממלל שקר לית אפשר ליה דיהוי מדוריה ביני צדיקיא מבכין פוק מן לותי ועביד כן:
kn webyd lwthy mn pwq mbkyn tsdyqya byny mdwryh dyhwy lyh apshr lyth shqr dmmll man dkl mTwl tsdyqya byny lmthb rshw lk lyth brm ythhwn lmTey ywkla lk ayth wawp thTey wamr nbyawhy dklhwn bpwmhwn shqr nbwath lrwkh waha apwq wamr
“He said, ‘I will go, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ “He said, ‘You will entice him, and will prevail also. Go and do so.’

וכדון הא מני יי רוח נבואת שקר בפומהון די נביאן אלין ומן קדם יי אתגזר לאיתאה עלך בישתא:
byshtha elk laythah athgzr yy qdm wmn alyn nbyan dy bpwmhwn shqr nbwath rwkh yy mny ha wkdwn
“Now therefore, behold, Yahweh has put a lying spirit in the mouth of these your prophets; and Yahweh has spoken evil concerning you.”

וקרב צדקיהו בר כנענה ואלקי ית מיכה עלוי לסתיה ואמר אי דא שעתא אסתלקא רוח נבואה מן קדם יי מני למללא עמך:
emk lmlla mny yy qdm mn nbwah rwkh asthlqa shetha da ay wamr lsthyh elwy mykh yth walqy knenh br tsdqyhw wqrb
Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, “Which way did Yahweh’s Spirit go from me to speak to you?”

ואמר מיכה הא את חמי ביומא ההוא דתיעול תון בגוא תון לאטמרא:
laTmra thwn bgwa thwn dthyewl hhwa bywma khmy ath ha mykh wamr
Micaiah said, “Behold, you shall see on that day, when you go into an inner room to hide yourself.”
25
ואמר מלכא דישראל דברו ית מיכה ואותבוהי גבי אמון רב דבקרתא וגבי יואש בריה דמלכא:
dmlka bryh ywash wgby dbqrtha rb amwn gby wawthbwhy mykh yth dbrw dyshral mlka wamr
The king of Israel said, “Take Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king’s son;

ותימרון כדנן אמר מלכא מני ית דין בבית אסירי ואוכלוהי לחם בדחוק ומיא בדחוק עד זמן דאתוב בשלם:
bshlm dathwb zmn ed bdkhwq wmya bdkhwq lkhm wawklwhy asyry bbyth dyn yth mny mlka amr kdnn wthymrwn
and say, ‘The king says, “Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I return in peace.”’”
27
ואמר מיכה אין מיתב תתוב בשלם לית רעוא דיי בי ולא אתמלל ברוח נבואתא עמי ואמר שמעו עממיא כלהון:
klhwn emmya shmew wamr emy nbwatha brwkh athmll wla by dyy rewa lyth bshlm ththwb mythb ayn mykh wamr
Micaiah said, “If you return at all in peace, Yahweh has not spoken by me.” He said, “Listen, you people, all of you!”

וסליק מלכא דישראל ויהושפט מלכא שבטא דבית יהודה לרמות גלעד:
gled lrmwth yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlka wyhwshpT dyshral mlka wslyq
So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth Gilead.

ואמר מלכא דישראל ליהושפט אנא אשתני ואעול בקרבא ואנת לבוש לבושך ואשתני מלכא דישראל ועל בקרבא:
bqrba wel dyshral mlka washthny lbwshk lbwsh wanth bqrba waewl ashthny ana lyhwshpT dyshral mlka wamr
The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “I will disguise myself, and go into the battle; but you put on your robes.” So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went into the battle.

ומלכא דארם פקיד ית רבני ארתכא די ליה למימר לא תגיחון קרבא עם זעירא ועם רבא ארום אלהן עם מלכא דישראל בלחודוי:
blkhwdwy dyshral mlka em alhn arwm rba wem zeyra em qrba thgykhwn la lmymr lyh dy arthka rbny yth pqyd darm wmlka
Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of his chariots, saying, “Don’t fight with small nor great, except only with the king of Israel.”

והוה כד חמון רבני ארתכא ית יהושפט ואנון אמרו ברם מלכא דישראל הוא ואסחרו עלוי לאגחא קרבא וצוח יהושפט ומימרא דיי סיע ליה ודחקנון יי מניה:
mnyh yy wdkhqnwn lyh sye dyy wmymra yhwshpT wtswkh qrba lagkha elwy waskhrw hwa dyshral mlka brm amrw wanwn yhwshpT yth arthka rbny khmwn kd whwh
When the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, they said, “It is the king of Israel!” Therefore they turned around to fight against him. But Jehoshaphat cried out, and Yahweh helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.

והוה כד חמון רבני ארתכא ארום לא הוה מלכא דישראל ותבו מאחורוהי:
makhwrwhy wthbw dyshral mlka hwh la arwm arthka rbny khmwn kd whwh
When the captains of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back from pursuing him.

ונעמן רב חילא דרב מלכא דארם נגד בקשתא לקבליה לאשלמה נבואת אליהו דמן תשוב ונבואת מיכה בר ימלא ומחא ית מלכא דישראל ביני לבא וביני חצר כבדא מאתר מדבקיא דשרינא ואמר למאן דמרכיב ליה חזור לאחורך ואפקני מן משרית עבדי קרבא ארום אתמרעית:
athmreyth arwm qrba ebdy mshryth mn wapqny lakhwrk khzwr lyh dmrkyb lman wamr dshryna mdbqya mathr kbda khtsr wbyny lba byny dyshral mlka yth wmkha ymla br mykh wnbwath thshwb dmn alyhw nbwath lashlmh lqblyh bqshtha ngd darm mlka drb khyla rb wnemn
A certain man drew his bow at random, and struck the king of Israel between the joints of the armor. Therefore he said to the driver of the chariot, “Turn around and carry me out of the battle, for I am severely wounded.”

וסליקו עבדי קרבא ביומא ההוא ומלכא דישראל הוה מתקף וקאים בארתכא כל קבל אנש ארם עד רמשא ומית לעדן מטמע שמשא:
shmsha mTme ledn wmyth rmsha ed arm ansh qbl kl barthka wqaym mthqp hwh dyshral wmlka hhwa bywma qrba ebdy wslyqw
The battle increased that day. However, the king of Israel propped himself up in his chariot against the Syrians until the evening; and at about sunset, he died.
